Wow it has been a busy half term. I have been extremely lucky and proud to have been involved in so many activities at the school. Class 3 assembly, Class 3 trip to Barton Grange, Mothers Day , Class 5 trip (dressed as a Viking!) and the fantastic Joseph last night. All I can say is thank you for letting me get so involved, I have loved every minute. The children have been absolutely excellent both in their school environment and out of it. They are a credit to the hard work all the staff put into their days and I thank everyone of you.

31st March 2010

We just wanted to drop you a line about tonight’s performance of Joseph. Our daughter, Francesca, has been singing every song for weeks in readiness and was so excited about tonight. We were so impressed with the performance, all the children sang their hearts out and you could see them enjoying every minute of the show.

The slight problem with the sound at the end seemed to bring even more from the cast, you probably wouldn't have heard the music, because they sang so well and loud. Thank you to the staff and the children for an excellent show and the standing ovation at the end was so well deserved. We are now trying to get Francesca to sleep - she is so excited.

Julie and I feel that you, Mr Culley and the whole school should be very proud of the teams achievement in getting to the quarter finals of the competition, I am sure that next year, with this experience under the belt, you will have some silver wear for the cabinet.

Can we also express our delight at the behaviour of all the children, again they did the school proud with their commitment, motivation and team spirit a credit to themselves and the school alike.

22nd March 2010

Just a couple of points to share:

I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Tag Rugby Tournament at Preston Grasshoppers yesterday with the team from years 5 and 6 and would just like to say that the children played brilliantly! It was a great day out and their behaviour was superb -  they were a pleasure to be with!  They did the school proud!  I came away with a sore throat from all the cheering but it was well worth it so a massive "well done" to each and every one of the team!

Also, I attended the Schools Chocolate Bingo last night with my children  and wanted say how much we all enjoyed it, it was great fun and we managed to come away with a couple of eggs and the biggest box of chocolates ever - yum!!  A huge thank you to the organisers!

22nd March 2010

Please find attached photos I took at the Tag Rugby Tournament today, the children played fantastic and were exceptionally well behaved. It was a great if not exhausting day and I was just watching!! then to do the football after I needed a lie down! All the children did Clifton proud and definitely deserved to come out winners in rugby and football.

19th March 2010

I loved Class 3's assembly, how lovely and confident all of those very young children were.  It was great to see what they had learned (although I did already know how knowledgeable they were after accompanying them on their trip!) and also how much they have enjoyed this topic.  Well done to Miss Hamer, Mrs Johnson, Miss Thomas and all the children!

13th March 2010

The year 1 mothers day afternoon was lovely!  I really enjoyed being able to spend time doing schooly things with Holly, we both had a great time and the song the choir sang for us at the end was so sweet.  Thank you to all the staff involved - lots of work had gone into the planning of the afternoon and I really appreciate it.

12th March 2010

Just wanted to say that I find the website very useful, loads of information about what is happening in school and the many events that the school holds. I also find the links to other sites very useful and the website is very user friendly.

9th March 2010

Just wanted to say what a great time I had on the class 3 trip today - the trip was really well organised and I was impressed with the children's knowledge of plants and seeds as well as their behaviour. They really represented the school well!

10th February 2010

Just wanted to say thank you for giving up your time tonight to talk to us (all!!) about Safer Internet.  I found the evening very informative and it was very useful to see what you had been doing with the children at school.  I can't believe how few parents turned up, I find it incredulous that they are all so secure about their children's safety on the net!! And of course, if anything happens it will be the schools fault even tho they arent taking any responsibility at all ... anyway, rant over.

26th January 2010

I'd like to let you know the school website is fab, very informative and easy to navigate round.

It's also so handy to be able to have the information at your fingertips instead of having to call to ask a 'silly' question.....

25th January 2010

The website is terrific. It contains a wealth of information about the school, it's policies and the activities that take place. It's extremely easy to navigate around and there are some really useful links to other websites.

My son loves going on to the various class pages to show me what's been going on in and around school.  It really makes it obvious to see that the children are getting a rich and varied experience during the school day.

I often contact the school via email and the links are there on the website to enable me to do that. There really isn't anything missing, with info from School dinner suggestions to the national curriculum it's all there, brilliant!

Thanks ever so much for keeping it so up to date.

12th January 2010

I just wanted to say I thought the situation was dealt with very well and although Ben was off school on the Thursday & Friday with a virus, I was still impressed with the way we were kept informed at all steps along the way by text/emails, etc. I think the school made the right decisions for both children & teachers and the well-being of all concerned is paramount. I don't think you could have done anymore. I was also pleased to see that the children were allowed to play in the snow and not be guarded from it and it is always a pleasure to see you, the headteacher, outside in the playground in the morning as the children arrive and also getting involved in the snowball fights, etc.  Ben started in September and my husband & I couldn't be happier with our choice of school and the fact that Ben loves going to school and would quite happily go in the holidays is just fantastic. He and ourselves were so proud when he came home with a Certificate of Merit for "trying hard at everything"  and I must admit I was also beaming with joy to find out that Ben was also in Golden Eagle as I was in the same house when I was here all those years ago. He is even about to join the after school football club, something we didn't expect from our quiet little boy who cried when he came over to do the Kindergarten's dance shows and didn't want to join in!

10th December 2009

I really enjoyed this years Christmas Concert, I think it was the best yet. Class 8 were amazing, some fantastic singing and the children appear to have no inhibitions about what they are doing on stage to entertain their audience. This makes for some great comedy moments making the concert and everything they do very watchable, always leaving you wanting more. Their confidence is a real credit to Mr. Culley and the school. I can't wait to see what they will doing for their leaving assembly next year.

7th December 2009

We saw the fantastic school nativity last week and wanted to say a big thank-you to all the staff for making it happen. The costumes were fantastic, Mrs Thomas's singing was next for the x-factor and all the words and actions appeared to go like clockwork. The children were understandably perfect and there were many proud parents with a tear in their eyes. Many thanks for all the effort that went into it. We loved it and more importantly so did our child

4th December 2009

We came to see the infant nativity production on Wednesday and I wanted to congratulate all the staff and especially the children for an absolutely fantastic, super, excellent performance.  I was so proud to watch them all and could see, even though they were hot under their costumes, that they loved every minute of it! Their singing and acting were fabulous!  Thank you for making me cry again! Thank you to all involved, again I'm a very proud parent.

22nd November 2009

Just letting you know that the children in the choir were an absolute credit to the school on Friday Night. They sang brilliantly and behaved exactly as you would have expected. I'm not usually one to go overboard but they really were a pleasure to take. I don't think any of the children, or myself, quite realised the scale of the concert and to think that Frankie and Simon actually sang on their own in front of over 1200 people is amazing! The whole night was a fantastic experience and it was lovely to see the children having so much fun, singing and dancing along, as well as keeping me up to date on who Signature and George Sampson were!!! Everyone really deserves to be congratulated. Can you also thank Denise, Bethan, Caroline and Mrs Nuttall who helped so much on the night and in particular Bethan who gave up her time to help the soloists.

20th November 2009

Just wanted to email you while the children singing is still fresh in my ears! They were truly amazing and you should be very proud of all of them. Needless to say I had more than just one tear in my eye, I am a very proud mum and would ask you to pass on my thanks again for letting Simon sing. You have a brilliant school with fantastic staff, without whom this wouldn't have been possible.

13th November 2009

Thank you to the whole school for allowing us to share in your Remembrance Assembly, it was a lovely time for reflection and thought.  I was impressed by how much the whole school knew about why we wear poppies at this important time and touched by how sensitively the subject matter was presented.

2nd November 2009

from Christine Knipe, Manager of the Westmorland County Show

I was absolutely delighted with the afternoon and thought the children did a fantastic job with the Clifton County Show.  I was made to feel very welcome and really enjoyed the opportunity of talking to some of the pupils and parents.  Two little girls brought a tear to my eye (literally) when they came and thanked me for coming to see them and then gave me a hug!  The teachers, too, put a lot of work into the afternoon – not to mention having the initial ideas – and should be congratulated.  I was also very impressed with the support from the other classes who came to see their fellow pupils taking part – one of the older children said he wished he was still in Year 3 and could have had a go!

You must be very pleased with the parental support – even when two of the mums had hunted everywhere for smocks for their children, because that is definitely what farmers wear!

1st November 2009

What a great Halloween party we all had.  The hall had been decorated fantastic, the DJ as usual was brilliant and everyone had a great time. A big thank you to everyone who made it possible and cant wait till next years.

27th October 2009

Just a quick note to you, Miss Davies and all staff involved with Class 5’s County Show on Friday 23rd October. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole afternoon!!! Yet again, great to see the school encouraging all of the children to participate.  Some of the children’s answers to your questions were very amusing!!! And yes, ‘Kirkham Corner’ in the Showjumping was tough!!!! ;-)
